Actor John Aniston, who portrayed Victor Kiriakis of the soap opera ‘Days of our Lives’ for over three and half decades, has died at the age of 89.

Aniston’s daughter, actress Jennifer Aniston, shared the news Instagram, revealing her father passed away this past Friday. In tribute to him, Jennifer shared photos through the years with her dad with the caption: “Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston . You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now 🕊I’ll love you till the end of time💔⁣ Don’t forget to visit 💫🤗❤

Since 1985, Aniston had portrayed Victor Kiriakis on DAYS. He also appeared on the soaps Search for Tomorrow and Love of Live, and made guest appearances on hit TV shows such as The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, Star Trek: Voyager, Mad Men, and many more. This past summer at the 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, John received the Lifetime Achievement Award and was celebrated in a videotaped message by his daughter, Jennifer; though he was not present at the ceremony. Aniston was just seen on DAYS during last Friday’s episode of the soap currently streaming on Peacock. Upon the news of his passing, the official Days of our Lives Twitter handle shared a video along with these sentiments: “Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston. We love you John. Your legend will live on.”

John is survived by his wife, actress Sherry Rooney, and their 33-year-old son, Alex Aniston, as well as Jennifer (who she shared with his first wife, the late Nancy Dow).
