9.14.09 Just a personal note today

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Happy Monday! Do you BELIEVE it’s 90 degrees in September in the Geneva Lakes area! I am simply baffled.  The last few weekends have been perfect and it looks like we will get ANOTHER great weather weekend ahead! I am jazzed!
This blog post is just a quick personal note from me.
I wanted to share with you a good Mexican restaurant I found this weekend in Milwaukee. It is called EL FUEGO.Matt and I liked it so much we went twice this weekend! The outdoor seating is what made us fall in love with this place. In my next life I want to be a food critic and travel around the world eating. I would saying eating is a hobbie of mine and soon to be Matt’s as well.   I can see my name in lights now Katie Kruz-Radio DJ, Life Coach, food enthusiast!

My next food adventure I think is going to take me to The Machine Shed in Pewaukee.
Sadly El Fuego does not have a website at this time but here is a good article

I love finding “diamond in the ruff” places to dine. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear from you katie@lake961.com

As always leaving you with a bit of INSPIRATION to take on the week

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier.  The way it actually works is the reverse.  You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.

9.11.09 8th anniversary of nation’s worst terrorist attack

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Today is a sad day as September 11th is the 8th anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks. Each year my heart is very heavy and it is a struggle to get through a radio show. I feel somewhat awkward each year when I go on the radio-I am just not sure what to do…I have a loss for words.

9.10.09 Success Story

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

It’s September! Last week was one of the busiest for us here at Lake 961 with the Walworth County Fair. What a beautiful weather week. It was fun to meet some of you at the fair and thank you to all who donated to the THINK PINK With Lake 961 campaign. We have set out to raise 10,000 dollars to get 96 people mammograms this fall in Greater Walworth County! I think just from the fair alone donatations were over $500! Any little bit makes a big difference. And we have a long way to go. Make your donation online now here

I have recently been turned on to SUCCESS Magazine. So from time to time I will be pasting articles from the mag for you to read quick. I feel they are highly influential and informative  and as always a resource to always keep you moving forward. I know sometimes it is frustrating to “see the light” when sometimes life is very dark. So I encourage you to read the “good stuff” even when you feel down or your ‘not in the mood.’ Be consistent with putting yourself in-front of the positive and you will be surprised how your attitude will shift. Really.
To your SUCCESS ;)

Serena Williams’ Success Strategies

Serena Williams is this year’s Wimbledon Ladies Singles Champion, but she’s also a savvy businesswoman. Discover her principles for success on and off the court.

Commit to doing your very best. Whether it’s tennis, fashion design or her other interests, Serena Williams holds nothing back in her pursuit of excellence.

Be a good sport. Serena worked at being gracious in defeat. The losses still sting, she says, but she tries not to show it, refocusing her emotions instead on working harder for future wins.

Follow your heart. The legacy you create is yours—not to be dictated by others.

Promote your work. “Every tournament I play gives me a great opportunity to market whatever I am working on or wearing.”

Don’t listen to naysayers. Serena keeps some articles about her and one day she just might read them. For now, “I don’t want their opinions impacting me.”

8.31.09 Bring a positive role model for work and life balance.

Monday, August 31st, 2009

This morning we launched THINK PINK With Lake961 and I am humbled by the donations we have already received. I applaud those who take action right away. There is only the right now. Let’s not live in the “I’ll think about it” world and take the action that is wanted and needed in your present moment!
THINK PINK with us here.

I can’t tell you how many coaching clientsare overwhelmed because they do not know how to balance between home and work. This is a great resource for you to read if your in that boat.

Most of us know what a role model is, but how often do we really think about being one? Answers.com defines a role model as:
“n. A person who serves as a model in a particular behavioral or social role for another person to emulate.”
A wise man for whom I once worked reminded me that, “every time we meet someone new, we learn and see in them traits we either wish to incorporate into our lives or traits we do NOT wish to emulate.” Charles Barkly not withstanding, we are all role models to someone. If we have children, we are often role models to them. In my life, we worked hard; long hours, do whatever it takes to succeed, do the things the organization needs to have done. Today, I can see a similar drive in my own children. They were not born to work hard. They followed what they saw in the household – what the role models in the home (their mother and father) showed them it meant to work. They also were able to travel and to see some very cool places in the United States during those years, as well.

8.24.09 Simon’s Favorite Audition

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Monday morning without any coffee! Excellent start to the week! I am still charged up from the weekend. The golf cart parade was so much fun. Our golf cart didn’t place first but weI think it is safe to say we tied for second. Pictures will be up shortly. Yesterday was my first Beloit Snappers game- thanks to Denise and the Women’s Network! I of course was driving Matt up the wall asking him a million questions about the game.  He handles me well, that is why we work ;)
This post is just a quick check in and I wanted to post the audition that Simon Cowell was ‘blown away’ by. I don’t know about you but when I see

Simon Cowell wowed on ‘X Factor’: ‘Single-handedly the best first audition I have ever heard’

It automatically has me searching for the video.
Above is the article link.

Have a great week! All this week I will be giving away admission passes to Walworth County fair! Listen to win with Lake 961.

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Summer won’t end officially until Sept. 22. But for students, three words —back to school— mark the beginning of the end. USA TODAY recommends four books to help kids in pre-K to middle school make the transition.

8.12.09 Where did the Summer go?

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Looking back at my last entry I believe I was clearly in denial that August is here, softball is wrapping up and the Walworth County Fair is right around the corner. Do you know where your Summer went? I started to write my newsletter for my personal website www.coachkatie.com and decided to share this piece with everyone because it seems that everyone I am connecting with is wondering where the Summer went and are in dire straits to have an extended couple of weeks to get things done. Enjoy and remember to breathe.

Is it really August?

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

August 3rd….are you sure? I can not believe how fast Summer is going. I have really enjoyed the Summer. Not many humid days, boating, concerts, festivals and good company. I have been very appreciative lately of Southeastern WI. I am really enjoying its beauty, the energy here and the great people I meet.  I encourage you to take a moment and say out loud what you are grateful for. Sometimes it’s easier to focus on the negative things but what about the good? We don’t recognize bad days without knowing good days. How about some inspiration this morning:

Inspiration

Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way.
- Booker T.  Washington
Nothing average ever stood as a monument to progress. When progress is looking for a partner it doesn’t turn to those who believe they are only average. It turns instead to those who are forever searching and striving to become the best they possibly can. If we seek the average level we cannot hope to achieve a high level of success. Our only hope is to avoid being a failure.

- A. Lou  Vickery

7.29.09 Inspiration and meditation

Inspiration

“All the Buddhas of all the ages have been telling you a very simple fact: Be — don’t try to become. Within these two words, be and becoming, your whole life is contained. Being is enlightenment, becoming is ignorance.”
“If you wish to see the truth, then hold no opinion for or against.”
- OSHO

Last nite I was taken through a guided meditation from one of my favorite Coaches-Debbie Shipp. To fully embrace the sound of your soul- it takes practice…take all your weight and push it down to the ground, even your heavy heart.
Every coach will encourage you to do some form of meditating. When you quiet your mind, you have all the answers. When you mediate, you practice to just BE. You are good enough. You are whole and complete.

If you have not done so yet today, take some time for yourself, find your quiet space…and BE with yourself-Listen to what your soul is telling you. If you need assistance a great resource for you is Oriah Mountain Dreamer’s book “The Invitation”

Photobucket

I take a lot of my coaching clients through these powerful mediations. The meditations can support you during your darkest days. If want to create more peace in your life visit my coaching site now www.coachkatie.com
