Friday, October 24th, 2008

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!!!
Rumor has it SNOW this weekend….I can’t believe it. I mean, I can, but wow, I am not ready for winter.  Today I m feeling a little drowsy. I guess tiz the season–It’s time to sing my NLP song “every little cell in my body is healthy, every little cell in my body is well…la la la la” (if you want the whole song-let me know, it works!)
A listener sent this too me at katie@lake961.com
I thought it was very  neat… a little food for thought on Friday.

I hope to see you at our halloween party tomorrow!
(if your debating-Just think, you will be cooped up inside all winter…so get dressed up and create FUN!)
Create a great weekend-
Katie

Photobucket
What are you doing this weekend? Saturday morning grab the family and come to Library Park in Lake Geneva and support Walworth County walkers for the Memory Walk ‘08.
Did you know that every 72 seconds someone in the U.S. develops Alzheimer’s?
Disturbing fact, we need to come together as a community, as a nation to raise awareness for this terrible dis-ease.
Life is too beautiful to not remember the journey, so take a few minutes and come down to Lake Geneva’s lakefront to support the walkers and our community members who have a family member suffering.
We can fight it!
For more info. go here http://www.alz.org/

I will be cheering and broadcasting live at Library Park THIS Saturday, September 20th from 10am-Noon.
Join me in the fight against this deadly disease!
Hope to see you there :)
Create  a great weekend, it’s your choice.

9.11.08 Remembered

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Today I am sad as it is September 11th and my sadness never fades after each year goes by. I am one who can not hold my feelings in, so if I sound “bored” and down on the radio that is why. I turn to the TV and CNN has the stories from the families as they are at the tower site remembering their loved ones. If it were up to me I would sit home on this day….in my PJ’s and watch their stories, and remember this terrible day.
The Sunday paper had put out a great article on HOW DO YOU TEACH KIDS ABOUT 9/11?
It is apart of history now, there are books, pictures, and stories but of no fault of their own the new generation of kids do not have the emotional connection that we have to the attacks. The article speaks with local teachers about their plans in moving forward with the educational piece to this tragic day. Read it now here.

We all “know where we were at when we found out the first plane hit the towers.”

My story: I was in college at the time, I think I was a Senior at the time and I slept in for my criminal justice class…(nothing new) …so like I always do, I popped up out of bed, brushed my teeth, brushed my hair and bolted out the door.  On my walk to campus i ran into a good friend and I asked “oh your runnin late too hey? He responded “yeah i couldn’t peel away from the TV”. At this point I still thought nothing of it so I didn’t respond. My friend at this point looked at me strangely thinking i pulled a fast one on him…Then he quickly realized I had no idea what was going on. Then here i am not believing him (we are jokers) up until the point I hit campus and there was this weird vibe–I could sense fear so I get to class and the rest is history.

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT THE 9/11 ATTACKS?
